WEB-BASED
COLLABORATIVE CURRICULUM
CONNECTED
NEHS AND YILAN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
The web-based collaborative geographic
curriculum, designed by NTNU, provided a fabulous learning
experience for the sophomores of the High School Department.
Since the beginning of the semester, the sophomores of both NEHS
and the Yilan Senior High School have been exploring the roles
of the client and the travel agent in the designing of an
excursion rich in local geographical features, as well as
customs and practices for the other school. Through the frequent
contacts and discussions over the Web CT platform, students
established a strong partnership which facilitated successful
collaborative learning. On April 29 the students and teachers
from Yilan visited Hsinchu and explored our local culture
through the six different routes designed by our students. On
May 19, Ms. Ling-shiow Liu led our sophomores on the trip to
Yilan following the routes they planned. Thanks for the hard
work of Ms. Liu and the high school sophomores, their efforts
and success shed a new light on the geographic curriculum for
the students of the e-generation.
