River Valley High School¡¦s
Enjoyable Visit
On May 26th and 27th, our 33 guest
teachers and 8th graders from Singapore’s River Valley High
School visited our school for a two-day tour. On behalf of NEHS,
the dean Tian-Ding Chuang first welcomed the teachers and
students warmly with a presentation featuring our school. The
students then participated in the wonderful classes of our 8th
graders from the Middle School Department in 5 groups. The next
day, our guests travelled around our school campus and Jing-Hsin
Lake and joined the 7th to 9th graders from the Bilingual
Department in their brilliant and joyful classes. In the
afternoon, they explored the world of coral reef ecosystem from
the tank and engaged in related activities and classes in the
Biology Laboratory. The teachers and students from our school
helped our guests from afar participate in and assimilate into
our school life and classes with enthusiasm and warmth. During
break time, lunch time, and noon quiet time, students from both
sides even spent time to probe into and appreciate the
differences between our educational systems, middle school
lives, and special cultural customs. Furthermore, on the 27th
during lunchtime, our visitors sang and danced and spoke about
their delightful experiences by the Middle School Department’s
Guidance Room to thank us for our cordial reception. Their
sincere invitation for us to visit them in Singapore received a
warm round of applause. With students sitting in the same
classrooms and participating in the same activities together,
this event has achieved its purposes of cultural exchange and
expanding our views of the world.
