2016 Graduation Ceremony for all departments of NEHS

Leaving the cold behind us, we see the school yard seemingly full of life, just like the graduating class this year. They have exemplified infinite energy and life. As the bells ring, the graduating class of 2016 is ready to stand on stage. The first ceremony will be on June 8th (Wed.) at 6:00 PM for the High School Department, followed by the Kindergarten department on June 14th (Tues.) 6:30 PM, Bilingual Department on June 15th (Wed.) 6:00 PM, the Middle School Department on June 16th (Thurs.) 6:00 PM, and lastly, the Elementary Department on June 17th (Fri.) 6:30 PM. Principal Huang and PTA President Huang cordially invites all parents of the graduating class to enjoy the night of a great turning point in our students¡¦ lives. The principal, department heads, teachers, and parents all hope for the best for the graduating students. We wish that the graduating class will soar to new heights! Congratulations! NEHS Students Creates New Heights in Asian Physics Olympiad

National Experimental High school again comes with great news. Xiang-Rui Wu from H305 had been selected as one of the 8 people to represent Taiwan to participate in the 17th Hong Kong Asian Physics Olympiad after numerous selection processes, including preliminary, semi-final, final, and four-stage training session. The APO was held on May 1st to May 9th, and Xiang-Rui Wu received bronze medal out of 26 countries and regions, a total of 193 students. After returning to the country, Xiang-Rui Wu significantly stood out from the 8 representatives of Taiwan and was chosen as one of the 5 representatives of Taiwan in the 2016 International Physics Olympiad. He is expected to fly to Zurich, Switzerland as a representative of Taiwan to participate in the 47th International Physics Olympiad. It is estimated that 90 countries will be participating in the International Physics Olympiad. The competition is expected to be very lively and intense. Let’s all wish that Xiang-Rui Wu will come back to Taiwan with another great news.

The Success of Dream Hi-Future Educational Ideals Exhibition

The hot-blooded students of National Experimental High School¡¦s Computer Information Science Society, along with students from National Hsinchu Senior High School¡¦s Computer Software Design Club, National Chu-pei Senior High School¡¦s Information Study Club, and National Wu-Ling Senior High School¡¦s Wu-Ling Computer Science Club created an annual computer exhibition for high school students: INFAS.js. The exhibition was held on May 29th at the NEHS International Conference Hall. Through this academic exchange, the students hope to spread information, promote the development of information technology, and provide high school students a stage for publishing their research results. The theme of this exhibition is ¡§Maker,¡¨ and in this exhibition, there were several agenda. First, Ben Jai, the current CEO of Hope Bay Technologies, who is also referred to as ¡§God Jai,¡¨ was invited to give a keynote speech. During his presentation, titled ¡§Facing the Gifted,¡¨ he shared his previous experiences and challenges he had faced working in Nokia Bell Labs and Google. Then, each school showed their capabilities, such as assembling unmanned aerial vehicles, implementing MIDI, Gomoku AI, raser gun, IoT basic control, improving coding, and so on. This exhibition was a great success.

A Successful Run: National Tournament 5th Place Representing Hsinchu City

Led by Ms. Lin (Pei-Jung Lin) and Ms. Jiang (Han-Yun Chiang), Class M303 of the Middle School Department represented NEHS in the 7th Annual Middle and Elementary School Class Relay Tournament and won city-wide championship. On May 21, Class M303, now representing Hsinchu City in the National tournament, got themselves prepared by heading towards the tournament venue to practice a day earlier (May 20) in order to get themselves familiar with the track. On the day of the tournament, Dean Lin (Hsiu-Fang Lin), Mr. Tsai (Ming-Huieh Tsai), and Mr. Chou (Shih-Cheng Chou) also came to cheer for the class, and they ultimately won fifth place for Hsinchu City! Congratulations to Class M303, and special thanks to Ms. Lin (Pei-Jung Lin) and Ms. Jiang (Han-Yun Chiang) for their hard work and effort in coaching the class towards success.

Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad Silver Medal

Congratulations to Junior Da-Jui He¡¦s achievement of becoming a part of the National team of Taiwan for the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO)! APIO is an annual competition that takes place right before the Informatics Olympiad, which is hosted during the summer season, as a preliminary round as well as a mock trial. This year, the competition was held in Korea. During this preliminary round, which was hosted in the National Taiwan Normal University on May 7th 1pm to 6pm, the Taiwanese team won 3 silver medals and 3 bronze metals after competing fiercely against 30 countries and 169 contestants. Da-Jui He, after becoming the high school champion, has underwent training during March 14th to 27th with 30 students and was chosen to continue on to the 2nd round of training. After that, he was picked as the top 4 to represent Taiwan as a member of the Taiwanese National team.

He and his team members will go on to compete in the Informatics Olympiads hosted in Kazan, Russia. Since his scores in previous competitions were all extremely close to the champion¡¦s, let¡¦s hope that he will become even better this August.
