Tag-the-Tree Program Arouses Interest Among Elementary Students

How much attention do you pay to our campus trees?  Can you randomly pick one and give its name and characteristics?  Gifted-program third and fourth graders from the Elementary Department initiated a "Tag-the-Tree"program.  They have made beautiful explanatory plates for our campus trees.  In order to heighten studentsÕ awareness of our school, a series of campus botany activities have also been held.  Their efforts seem to be paying off; around six hundred people have participated since the activities started.

Drawing Exhibition Held by a Seventh Grader

Fan Au-shuan, a seventh grader from the Experimental middle school, held his first drawing exhibition from November 23-25 at the Science Park Administration Building. His drawings of Hualien rivers and carp feeding convey his love for nature. The firmness of his brush strokes and the cleverness of his drawings make it hard to believe that he is just twelve.
