CHRISTMAS JOY WARMS UP THE COLD WINTER

Christmas of 2009 was celebrated in all departments and the IBSH. On the 23rd, an outdoor Christmas Concert took place at the IBSH courtyard. Students, teachers and parents gathered and enjoyed a great time as the performers sang and danced the lunch time away. On the 24th at the Kindergarten department, intern teachers put on a play called “The Christmas Banquet”, and the English teacher dressed up as Santa Claus and passed out candy as the children sang joyously the Christmas songs they learned in English. Same day at the High School department the string orchestra played a medley of Christmas songs at lunch. On the 25th the High School choir sang three songs of Christmas, followed by a lovely clogging dance performed by five teachers. At the Elementary department, the tradition of giving thanks to wrap up the year continued. By writing thankful notes, watching plays focused on appreciating and sharing, the students learned to enrich one another’s lives through lending a helping hand. With the H1N1 flu threat hovering over the entire school, it has not been an easy semester for anyone. It was great to see everyone celebrating Christmas joyously as the year came to an end. Hope this also marked a closure to the health threat and the coming year promises brighter days for all.
