It isn't easy to keep a crowd
captive with poetry for 3 hours, but that's exactly what the
PoeRty Club accomplished at the first-of-its-kind IBSH Poetry
Cafe on February 15th. The evening consisted of students,
faculty, friends, and family members gathering at Art Park Cafe
on Jinshan Lake just before sundown to hear original poetry from
PoeRty Club members Dana Chiueh (President), Kyle Lee
(Treasurer), Matteo Ting (Secretary), Theresa Guey (Outreach
Coordinator), Wesley Yang, Chloe Chen, Ashley Huang, Kelly Fang,
and Karen & Maxine Tseng, and a special original musical tribute
duet performed by Dr. Alex Fishman & Principal Roger Lee. The
featured performers were followed by an electric open mic, which
included more poetry, music, and comedy. In sum, audience
members came hungry and left satisfied (both literally and
metaphorically), making the event a resounding success.
