雙語部主辦的新竹模擬聯合國活動今年邁入第 19 年！在這一場年度高中生學

術盛會中，來看看來自台灣四處的高中生如何用英文談論、議定國際事務，並
且關注了哪些議題和時事！

HSINMUN XIX was a resounding success this year, drawing over 20 schools and 350 participants.
The vibrant opening ceremony on the evening of October 13th featured Principal Charles Chang Chien, who
intricately detailed the conference theme: "Touching the Extremes of Issues - Reducing the Polarization
of Conflicts," emphasizing the imperative need for communication in finding solutions within our digital
age. Professor Ian Rowen's keynote speech delved into the geopolitical landscape of cross-strait tourism,
showcasing the transformative potential of conflicts, aligning well with the conference's theme and the
contemporary international scenario.
Each committee engaged in compelling debates. GA1 discussed issues in the Indo-Pacific region, while
GA2 focused on financial transparency and digital divides. Delegates in GA3 actively addressed global water
crises and the Yemen humanitarian crisis, sharing unique experiences and overcoming challenges, often
expressing their debates through vivid metaphors.
SPECPOL (GA4)deliberated on political solutions in Cyprus and the Rohingya refugee crisis,
benefitting from the expertise of seasoned representatives. GA6 centered discussions on ideological
extremism and terrorism, fostering insightful debates in a congenial atmosphere.
