The 6A class of the NEHS Bilingual Department will graduate on June 14, 2001. Most of
people in 6A see the bad side of moving on to 7th grade and middle school. For we all know
that in 7th grade we will have to change classes and teachers, wear uniforms, have more
homework, get tardy slips, and have to obey more rules. Worst of all, we won't be able to play
our favorite game, dodgeball!
Moving up to 7th grade is not just going up one grade and one more flight of stairs. It's
like being new students all over again. We may have totally new subjects and teachers, and be
joining activities we never heard about before along with all the other 7th-12th graders.
Speaking of new , maybe we will have new students join our class! Not only will the 6A
and 6B classes remix; we could be getting other( as in totally new) new students. Even though
the 6A and 6B students are in different classes, we still know everyone in the two classes fairly
well. In fact, it's really kind of boring how well we all know each other, especially those who
have been here three years or longer. New students mean opportunities to make new friends.
So you can see why we all get so excited over new students. That, at least, is a positive side of
going to 7th grade. Another thing to look forward to is having the subject called Activities,
where we get to choose our own classes.
Sigh ! So many new things! Let us hope that at least some of our friends will stay in the
same class with us and that some of our old teachers teach us again. Now that the future is so
undecided, we remember the times we had together, the fun and the revolting times. The times
when we were at war with each other and the times of easy companionship. The teachers we
had, the strict ones, the funny ones, the nice ones , the ones that were so encouraging to us, and
the ones who always forgot to give us homework . We remember, and we thank all the people
who made it possible for us to have such wonderful memories to look back on.
Thank you, teachers and parents for guiding us, and making our lives so much brighter and
easier . Thank you , 6A classmates , for tolerating and not strangling each other and not
sabotaging our entire memory of 6th grade.
Special thanks to our homeroom teacher this year, Ms. Jean Tien, who motivated us this
year and encouraged us to write this composition. And now the 6A Graduation Composition has
come to an end, so good-bye, adios, and ta-ta!

大家一起邁向七年級吧!
As we look back on the past, we realize we have changed and grown up a lot (although
many of us are still short).
Some of us cried in third grade when Mr. McCabe was deported.
We went to Mr. V.'s home for Christmas (and for cookies and drinks and to watch TV).
We played Shark on the playground.
The girls wrote "GIRLS RULE!" on the chalkboard during fourth grade's Thanksgiving
Feast.
The boys went out to play soccer while the girls were busy drawing their masterpiece on
the board.
We laughed at the Chinese meaning of "38" during math class.
We entered writing and art contests and trivias.
We spent good behavior cards at Ms. Levine's auctions.
We received jellybeans during music class.
Alan often came late to school.
Christine came to school around lunchtime.
Cher always led the warm up before PE class.
Marlene's shoe fell off during the fifth grade Field Day.
Cathy tortured her friends (esp. Carol and Marlene) with tickling.
Peggy went on the scary, turning ride in Little People's Country.
Brian was nicknamed "Short Stuff".
Julie brought her stuffed animals to school for the Flea Market.
Michael got a cramp on the way back from the basketball court to the classroom.
Tiffany J. decorated the bulletin board with posters.
Tiffany K. told everyone that she wore contacts.
Raymond caught the Chinese meaning of the variables "bt" during math class.
Kelvin called his cubby "Mommy".
Bryan shouted for everyone to turn in their ParentCommunication books.
Winnie carved a beautiful phoenix stamp for art class.
Pavlo got in trouble for going off campus to Seven Eleven and 21st Century.
Alice yelled for math notebooks in the mornings.
Clara passed out papers for the teachers.
Curtis ate breakfast in the morning often.
Katie fell against the door and hurt her head.
Carol became a victim of Cathy's torture.
Timothy got in trouble for talking with Kelvin during math class.
Evan introduced the new, gray, tie-dye look on a wet, puddley day.
All of these things have happened. We really have to look back and wonder what will happen in seventh grade. And what to expect. Merits? Demerits? Uniforms?
Dances? Electives? Activities? Four floors to climb?
Thanks to all the teachers who helped us through all the good and bad times. We will never forget the students who left our school too. We miss all of you!
Class of 2001, B班
......... .
What Ho! another year has flown away,
Though this time we get to finally say,
We are graduating from Bilingual
Twelve years we have spent at this school!
Sherry at Carnegie Mellon will be,
No longer will Ms. Hsieh mark her tardy.
Virginia is where Lily will go
Maybe she then will have a Southern beau.
Another Henry at UCLA,
But to come back to teach here, he'll say nay.
SUNY Buffalo welcomes Con next year,
She plans to study there with true NYork'r cheer.
A unique indvidual amongst us
Gloya stays here and skips the college fuss.
UCLA claims another student,
Sunny Call was where CinH was meant.
Next comes our first Harvardian-to-be,
Suh-harn the genius just baffles me.
Over CalTech Joshua pick'd Stanford,
A more liberal place he must have preferred.
U Dub calls another Bilingual kid,
To join a frat, Jim Liang's parents forbid.
Also going to Dub is Tina Yu,
Her pressence rounds out the Bilingual crew.
Sherman goes to Tulane, his father's school.
We wish him luck and hope he'll keep his cool.
The buffest senior guy I've ever seen,
Kevin is claimed by Duke, his Carolina dream.
Tina Shu is going to Wellesley,
In bustlin' Boston, to study and spree.
Mel doesn't yet know where she will go.
Just somewhere with plenty of "Ehis" and snow.
From here Purdue finally has someone.
Gene is the first to go, hope he'll have fun.
Accent-enthralled Sharon goes to Rice,
"Y'all" instead of "G'day mate" shall suffice.
Columbia gets yet another Wu,
Albert and Phil give NEHS two.
Kent goes to Iowa where nothing is
His Tae Kwon Do punches and kicks he'll miss.
Hence We complete our long iambic rhyme,
These years we've spent here have been quite sublime.
Although we eighteen seniors soon be gone,
Our love and spirit live forever on.
