A New Year, A New
Office
It
is a big job for those at BDSC, representing the Bilingual
Department and their fellow peers. Ever since names were up for
candidacy, studnents knew they were stepping into influential
positions. Now, with the backing of friends and faculty, this
year's Officers have a conviction that this school year may just
be the year of results we have all been waiting for.
Not just Council Officers, President Rune-Wen Huang, Vice
President Marlene Chow, Secretary Jackie Cheng, and Treasurer
Maggie Sheu are students as well. And though this point may be
all too obvious, many past cabinets have forgotten – or perhaps
merely ignored – this crucial element of perception. The
prerequisite for being the right kind of student body
representatives is maintaining an approach that says, "We are
peers too."
Reaching out to and staying connected with peers are leading items
on BDSC's yearly agenda. The Council website (www.xanga.com/bdsc)
has been renovated and "spiced up," in the words of President
Huang, to "reflect Bilingual mentality." Though the site went
largely unused since its creation in 2003, this year's Officers
believe that increasing traffic for this kind of web-based
communication is an important leap-pad to future success. "We
want to make sure our friends know we're serious about obtaining
results."
Students are also encouraged to speak out in person. The Officers
maintain that conversation is usually the primary means by which
candid input can be obtained. President Huang, having a track
record of being involved with students, aims to keep real-time
communication channels open between him, the Student Council, and
the students.
With so many students excited about this year's BDSC prospective
outcomes, the 2005-2006 BDSC Officers are just as eager to make
things happen. President Huang and cabinet are extremely
optimistic, given their healthy administration relations. With
recognition from Dean Ms. Christine Huang, Student Affairs
Coordinator Ms. Jean Tien, and Disciplinarian Ms. Selina Hsieh,
for successful June New Teachers and New Students Orientations,
both student and faculty parties are confident about this year.
As Vice President Chow emphatically stated, "We have already set a
new standard for future generations of BDSC!"
第22屆學聯會
自遙遠的從前從前開始，實中的學聯會就秉持著青春、熱血、衝勁的精神在實驗中學扮演重要的角色。學生的大大小小活動可是有不少是由學聯會一手包辦的呢！像是開學前新生訓練的大地遊戲、開學後high到爆炸的迎新晚會 、然後是年度重頭戲—歲末舞會…等等，都是學聯會成員由上到下通力合作完成的，無形中維繫著實驗中學的各種傳統。本屆學聯會由活動組、公關組、文宣組、音控組組成。活動組是學聯會內最大的組別，所有活動的辦理都是由活動組直接運作，是學聯會的中心。而公關組則負責伸出觸角與外界聯繫，代表學校參加外校公關活動，宣揚實中精神與文化。文宣組則是美工宣傳的強者們組成的，學聯會各種大型活動都是由他們製作精美海報宣傳。本屆學聯會更立志將文宣組擴大，期待能使文宣組成為學聯會另一項與學生接觸的互動管道。音控組成員各個都是音樂的長才，對於音樂的敏感度使得他們在各活動音效、音樂的處理都能使活動增添不少風采。因此，學聯會可說是由各式各樣的強者們組合而成的，在這裡我們有共同的理想，努力不懈往共同的目標邁進，將學聯會推上更光明璀璨的未來！！
