FRONT GATE OVERPASS CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED
Crossing the busy Jie-shou road at the front gate has long been a big safety concern for students, teachers and parents of NEHS. With the road’s 60 meters in width, and busy traffic at loading and unloading hours, how to ensure the safety of the crossing pedestrians has aroused the attention of the Science Park Administration, the Association of Industries in Science Parks, NEHS, and also the Parents’ Association for quite some time. A decision was made to build an overpass. The Park Administration funded the construction. The overpass has been completed since January this year and is already in full use. Students, teachers, parents can now cross Jie-shou road with ease, thanks to all the caring parties, and especially the Park Administration for the funding and support (see p.6 for detail and photos)

FACADE AND STAGE OF GYM RENOVATED
Ahe stage of the gym has been in use for over twenty years, the equipments, floor, curtains and walls all have suffered a lot of wear and tear. Thanks to the funding allotted from the Hsinchu City Government, NEHS had received 1.5 million NT to give the stage a new look. The construction began during the winter break and completed in early March. With a professional designer’s touch, the wooden fa?ade of the stage radiates an elegance. The new floorboards and curtains give the stage a refreshed look. The quarter-circle design of the side stairs makes the entrance and exit of the stage more efficient and safer. Large flat-screens hanging from left and right of the stage provide better visual effects of the viewing of videos or presentations. Hidden sound control panel in the front of the stage allows better access and monitoring of the sound effects. A flight of hidden central stairs can be easily pulled out and restored so the sports purpose of the gym floor is not compromised in any way. We hope to continue to renovate the rest of the gym in the future. Thanks to Hsinchu City Government for making the memories of the NEHS students more splendid and unforgettable.
