HIGH SCHOOL DEPARTMENT SENIORS’ OIL PAINTING EXHIBITION ON DISPLAY
The 2006 High School Department Seniors’ Oil Painting Exhibition, titled “A World With Colors”, took place at two galleries consecutively recently. During March 29- April 2, the 133 paintings were on display at the Hsinchu Hall of Education. Later from April 3-17, thanks to the generous financial support of a loving parent, the paintings were exhibited at the Sunny Art & Culture Museum in Chu-tung. With the full support of Principal Wu, and the unconditional devotion of Art teacher Ms. Hsu, these high school seniors spent an entire semester of art classes in their junior year focusing on oil painting. It took them extreme focus and dedication to make such exquisite masterpieces, and in the mean time these seniors painted themselves sweet memories as they spent hours after school working quietly, side by side, in the art classroom. Thanks to Deputy Director Yen of the Hsinchu Science Park, Director Chiang of the Hsinchu City Education Bureau, Deputy Director Lin of the Hsinchu City Department of Culture Affairs, and Principal Huang of National Hsinchu Senior Industrial and Vocational High School, Principal Jiang of the National Chutung Senior High School, and Principal Hsu of Kuan-hsi Vocational Senior High School for their visits to the exhibition and the encouraging words to the seniors. Most of all, thanks to Ms. Hsu and the seniors, you make us proud!! (See p.12-13 for detail).

Ms. Shu-Duan Yang, speaker of the seminars, graduated from the Vienna's Music School in Austria with a master's degree in piano, and had been an opera accompanist at the Mozarteum once. These seminars usually take places in the morning from 9 AM to 12 PM. All music lovers are welcome to enjoy the heavenly melodies.

VISITORS FROM TAINAN FIRST HIGH SCHOOL
BLESSED NEHS WITH “I WILL” WORKSHOP
The English video conference on January 3 packed with intellectual sparks left the Bilingual and Tainan students feeling connected. Mr. Chiang, teacher at the Tainan First High School, brought his students north to visit the Bilingual Department on March 29. They spent an hour observing an English class of the sophomores taught by Ms. Linden Cross; then, Mr. Chiang gave a workshop to NEHS teachers on the “I WiLL” platform that helps teachers with collecting homework, evaluating progress, raising questions and conducting discussions. We are grateful to Mr. Chiang’s for sharing such precious experience, and we believe that through the interaction students from both schools will benefit immensely both intellectually and interpersonally.
