TSMC Energy Conservation Volunteer Committee’s Mid-term Report for NEHS Released

Last semester, the TSMC Energy Conservation Volunteer Committee came to NEHS to assess the cost and effectiveness of our school’s power, air conditioning, and telecom. On 2/16, the committee came back to give a report on the diagnosis. The report states that our school’s self-estimated capacity of high-voltage electricity is currently the most cost-effective; however, there is much room for improvement when it comes to saving energy and lowering the costs of electricity bills. Methods to conserve energy include replacing ineffective air conditioners, alternating the use of air conditioners, or turning off lights when leaving the classroom. Most importantly, all students and teachers should strive to be environmentally-conscious and develop energy-conservation habits. The TSMC Energy Conservation Volunteer Committee’s diagnosis and suggestions not only benefitted the deans of each department, but also serve as references to the management of NEHS.

For the past few months, members of the TSMC Energy Conservation Volunteer Committee have come to our school at least ten times, often during their lunch breaks or personal vacations, to conduct an energy-saving diagnosis. Apart from their highly professional and efficient behavior, the volunteers’ enthusiasm and spirit are also worthy of praise and admiration. Furthermore, many of the volunteers walked to our school, thus reducing carbon emissions and getting exercise. There is much to learn from their attitudes. To the TSMC Energy Conservation Volunteer Committee’s efforts and contribution, we offer them our highest gratitude.
