Conference with Distinguished

Intercultural Dialogue

HSINMUN XX working team

This past October, the International Bilingual School at Hsinchu Science Park (IBSH) proudly hosted
HSINMUN XX, its twentieth Model United Nations conference and the first in several years to host
international participants. This year's event brought together over 450 participants from 23 schools, marking
another milestone in its prestigious history as Taiwan's only THIMUN-affiliated conference.

The conference featured Carol Lin, a distinguished scholar from National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung
University, as the keynote speaker. With her extensive background in gender justice and financial criminal
law as well as her involvement in various legal committees, including the Judicial Reform Foundation, Lin
delivered an inspiring address that connected legal frameworks with social empowerment.

Under the theme "Constructing Beacons of Hope: Illuminating Paths to Empowerment," delegates
engaged in spirited debates across various committees. The Security Council demonstrated exceptional
diplomatic acumen in addressing the Yemen crisis and concerns in the Sahel. General Assembly committees
tackled pressing issues, ranging from digital currency regulation in GA2 to juvenile justice reform in
GA3, while the Environmental Committee impressed with its sophisticated understanding of sustainability
technologies and other committees diplomatically discussed various other contemporary issues.
