街頭日記（Freedom
Writers）是2007年5月上映的一部感人至深的電影。本片描寫在美國加州長島貧困街區的一所高中的來自社會底層的一群青少年，非裔、亞裔、拉丁裔等族裔齊聚一堂，他們或許相貌不同，但相同的是每天生活在街頭暴力、種族械鬥之刀口槍下的驚悚與無奈。這些人生中早熟的孩子，目擊死亡已是家常便飯，對學習毫無熱情，對人生充滿失望與怨懟，在街頭與家庭暴力中能夠活過一天就是恩典。學校中的教師們早已放棄了他們，直到剛畢業的新教師Ms.
Gruwell展開雙臂，以自己的心來貼近他們的疼痛，以死於納粹槍下的Anne
Frank寫下的「安妮日記」，來引導他們經由認同作者的命運多舛來抒發自己的人生不幸，並鼓勵他們用自己的筆書寫出心中的吶喊與夢想，這些孩子們的人生就此不同。
這是個真實的故事，這些出身不幸的孩子們，以一枝筆與一股愈挫愈勇的無比勇氣，為自己寫出了一個不一樣的人生。原本被期待早早輟學懷孕或橫死街頭的這一群孩子，現在已就讀大學及研究所，但他們仍繼續以自己的筆，為寫出一種不一樣的、撼動人心的教育而盡力。中文五丙的同學們看了這部電影之後，感動良久。以下是他們寫下電影中自己最喜歡的部分與得到的啟示，與你分享他們的感動，也真心推薦這部絕對值得一看的好電影。

In the movie “Freedom Writers”, the part that
inspired me the most was when Eva told the truth at the court.
Instead of lying and protecting her friend, she did what she
thought was the right thing to do; risking her life, she made
the right choice. Although it was a very short scene, but I
think it’s a very meaningful one. This scene revealed the great
impact Ms. G. had on Eva and all the rest of the students. At
the moment of telling the truth, Eva’s life changed. It was a
turning point in her life, and she learnt how to face reality,
instead of hiding from it all the time.
This movie will open our eyes and let us
realize the kinds of difficulties others face in everyday life,
and how to face our challenges; and this will eventually lead us
to completing our dreams and goals.
在這一部電影裡，我有非常多喜歡的片段，很難只選出其中之一。但讓我印象最深刻的是---當
Eva
因為目擊兇殺案而在法院當證人的時候，她竟然說出了事實，說出了 "Paco
did it!"
而沒有為了保護自己的朋友而說謊。她冒了自己生命的危險，做了她覺得是對的決定，這一幕顯現出他們的老師（Ms.
Gruwell）對
Eva 和其她的學生的影響力。這也是
Eva
的人生的轉捩點，因為她終於勇敢的面對人生，迎向人生的挑戰，而沒有退縮逃避。
我覺得這一部電影非常值得大家看，因為它會讓我們打開眼界，看到別人在生命中遭遇了什麼困難，又如何應付挑戰，而終於能完成自己的夢想。

「Freedom
Writers」這部電影很好看,
也很有意義；其中我覺得最好看的部分是當Marcus去找他的媽媽，問媽媽他能不能回家的時候；這個場面讓我覺得很感動。Marcus像全世界的青少年一樣，需要父母的愛和保護，他也有足夠的智慧去改變自己。這個場面讓我明白父母的愛的價值，也讓我懂得珍惜我所擁有的父母的愛。這部電影同時也給了我很多別的啟發---我應該不要怕講出我自己的故事來表達心裏的想法，同時也要能忠於事實。像Ms.Gruwell的班級一樣，我們班上的中文課不只講課文，也會討論課文的意義和人生哲學。透過「Freedom
Writers」，老師不只讓我們看了一部好看的電影，也讓我們思考生命的涵義，以及要怎麼去面對自己的將來。我想我們是很幸運的學生，有Ms.
Jou來教我們這一班！
"Freedom Writers" is
an amazing movie, and has taught me many valuable lessons in
life, especially in times of need. My favorite part was when
Marcus confronted his mother and begged for permission to come
home. It shows that no matter how much teenagers think they can
survive on their own, once they experienced being alone in the
real world they will realize how much they depend on parents.
Although they may not show it, parents love their children. This
scene made me realize how lucky I am to have a loving and
supportive family, and taught me to cherish this love I have.

I liked this movie, from the opening music in
the beginning to the ending credits in the end. Even though this
following scene is not appealing, I keep reminiscing on it ---
the scene when the teacher went home to find her husband leaving
her. She entered her house excitedly, wishing to share with him
the progress of her students. However, she found him sitting in
a chair with a serious expression. When I saw her expression as
she looked at her husband’s packed luggage with tears in her
eyes, my heart almost broke. In order to help her students, she
sacrificed her energy, time, and money; in the end even her
marriage was sacrificed. This is really heroic.
我一直都很喜歡這部電影，從最前面的開場音樂到最後的閉幕片段。
雖然這一幕並不討喜，但我一直回味著Ms.
Gruwell的先生離開她那天，當她下班回家進門的那一刻。她興高采烈的進門，想要和她老公分享那天她學生的進步的成果，不料卻發現她先生一臉凝重的坐在椅子上。當她看到她老公已打包好的、放在門邊的行李時，她熱淚盈眶，而我的心也差點碎了。她為了幫助這群學生，不惜犧牲自己的體力、時間和金錢，最後甚至連自己的婚姻都犧牲掉了。這真的很感人，
這位老師為了改變她學生的教育，也同時改變了自己的人生。

電影中，我最喜歡的部份是當學校不給
Ms. G.
的學生新書時，她就去兼差賺錢自己買。這些書都是用來鼓勵她的學生要立志學好；告訴他們不論生長在多麼惡烈的環境，只要相信自己，就可以成功。當學生們拿到這些新書時，都不敢相信，所以他們由於很感激而開始用功。我最喜歡這一幕是因為
Ms. G. 真心的關愛這些學生。她是唯
一沒有放棄他們，而且用真心去感動他們的老師。她讓學生覺得他們的將來也有希望，並且只要努力就會成功。這部電影使我學到---只要相信自己，隨時都可以從困境中突破；而且，只要有愛，就可以改變一生。
My favorite part of the movie is when Ms.
Gruwell is told that she can not give new books to her students,
and how she then works extra jobs buy new books for the kids;
she also chooses the books that she thinks will help them, like
a book about a kid that grew up in a rough community just like
her students. The students are touched because nobody has ever
been so kind to them before, and begin to appreciate Ms. G. and
start to read. I like this part because Ms. G. shows that she
really cares about her students, and will stop at nothing to
help them. She does not give up on these kids even though
everyone else has, and she even gives them hope for a brighter
future. I learned that no matter how bad things get, there's
always hope for a better future. The students in the movie
started out with no hopes or dreams but ended up graduating from
high school because of Ms. G.’s love. I believe that love can go
a very long way and really change people's lives. I also
learned to appreciate my own life and the people around me.

After watching Freedom Writers, I can safely
say that the story behind it all is one of the most moving that
I've ever heard. What strikes me the most about their story is
that its poignancy doesn't come from the theme of hopelessness
or hitting rock-bottom. In fact, it's quite the opposite. In a
society that is filled with crime, racism, and violence, the
story of the Freedom Writers shows that, simply, there is hope.
電影中，我最喜歡Mrs.
Gruwell 帶她的學生去

參觀的那一段，因為這是電影中的轉捩點。從這次參觀之後，這些 freedom
writers
的生命就此被完完全全的改變了。這個情境感動了我，因為我很驚訝那些青少年竟能開始察覺，相較於死於納粹大屠殺之下的猶太人，自己的生活環境與生命其實並不差。他們因此開始漸漸對學習有興趣，而接受Ms.
Gruwell
的關懷與教導，開始試著改變自己的「現在」和「未來」。這部電影很有啟發性，又很感人；它讓我了解到---不論你現在的情況多麼不幸，你仍然有選擇，可以改變自己的未來。

這部電影給我的震撼、感動到振奮使我整部電影都很喜歡！可是我最印象深刻的部分，是當
Eva
在法庭上說出事實的那一幕。她這舉動是從電影前段的鋪陳看來絕不可能發生，然而意想不到的，Eva
掙扎了很久，最後還是冒著生命危險做了她覺得對的決定，也因此讓我印象深刻。從這部電影中，我學到兩件事---第一
是要為自己覺得對的事發聲，就算有人不認同你也沒關係，只要你知道自己做的事是對的；第二是不要退縮逃避，而要迎向挑戰，這樣才能克服難關；因為只要有心，沒有事情是做不到的。
The movie “Freedom Writers” became one of my
favorite movies right after we finished watching it. I found the
story very inspirational and touching through the students’
transformations. Ms. Gruwell’s effort was not only impressive
but also commendable; I was amazed at how much time she was
willing to put in to pursue her goals. I’ve learnt two things
from this movie. Firstly, do what you think is right, if it
means standing alone, as long as you know what you’re doing then
it’s alright. Secondly, always rise against challenges in order
to overcome it. When life throws you lemons, say ‘I like lemons,
what else do you have?” Quoting the Adidas slogan, ‘Nothing is
impossible’.

我最喜歡的部份，就是當那個墨西哥裔學生講他的故事給大家聽的那一段，因為他的故事讓我很感動。他班上的每個人聽完故事，也都覺得很感人，而圍上來擁抱他。那個墨西哥裔學生覺得
Mrs. Gruwell
的班像是一個他所沒有的、溫暖的家；而我聽完那個故事，就覺得，我們這個班也是像是一個大家庭，李秀芬老師的中文課也是像是一個家。
電影一開始的時候，班上不同種族的學生互相仇視，經常打架傷人；後來，Ms.
Gruwell幫他們了解彼此、互相關懷，而把他們變得像一個家庭。所以這部電影，讓我學到，不管別人是什麼膚色、長相、背景，「每一個人，都要對別人一樣好，要對每一個人都好。」
My favorite part of the movie, Freedom
Writers, was when the Mexican student read his story to his
class. Part of his story was that he felt Mrs. G’s class is like
a family. After he finished reading his story to his class,
everyone in that classroom felt touched. After I finished
hearing the Mexican student’s story, I felt that my Chinese
class is also like a family.
I learned from this movie that everyone
should treat other people equally and nicely. In the beginning
of this movie, it started out with different racial people
fighting and not getting along. Ms. Gruwell brought them
together and soon the class became like a family. I learned from
this movie that everyone should treat everyone nicely no matter
if their skin color is different from yours.
