NEHS¡¦s 7 Top-scorers on the 2015 College Entrance Exam

The 2015 college exam results were released on February 25, revealing perfect level-75 scores for seven extraordinary scholars from NEHS. Although test questions this year were slightly harder than on previous years, resulting in only 182 perfect-scorers nationwide this year (a 40% decrease of 113 students compared to results last year), NEHS secured seven full-scorers this year - H303 Judy Lien, H303 Joseph Chen, H304 Ting-Yu Ku, H304 Shao-Wei Chu, H305 Wen-Tsung Huang, and H305 Chung-Hung Tsai. In addition, there were 11 level-74 scorers, 14 level-73 scorers within NEHS¡¦s current graduating class of 154 students. 53% of seniors at NEHS scored above level-70, an increase from last year¡¦s 51%. This year¡¦s exam yielded many splendid results! The school would like to extend its gratitude to its teachers for the comprehensive instruction and its congratulations to the amazing seniors this year. We hope all graduating seniors will be enrolled in their top choice institutions!

Mr. Jie and Ms. Feng Selected as Distinguished 2015 Science Fair Teachers

The teachers Mr. Jie and Ms. Feng from the biology department were chosen as Distinguished Teachers in the 2015 Middle and Elementary School Science Fair because they led many students to finish science fair projects with excellent results for 5 years running. They will be honored as such in the Awards Ceremony of the 55th National Primary and High School Science Fair. The goal of the Distinguished Teacher award is to encourage more teachers to lead students to do scientific research and apply what they learn at the Science Fair, increasing the number of opportunities for students to learn from others and also strengthening general interest in science research. The science fair is a competitive activity with multiple stages. In the first stage, about 15,000 projects are submitted from students all across the country. After preliminary selection, there are still over 5,500 projects participating in city- and county-wide science fairs. After a final stage of selection, particularly outstanding projects are sent to the national fair. The school¡¦s gratitude goes to the two teachers for leading students to succeed amidst the strong competition for five years in a row and consistently obtain high rankings, and we congratulate them for receiving this honor!

Congrats! NEHS Once Again Wins Department of Education ¡§Future School¡¨ Award

The Department of Education has been promoting the ¡§Future Imagination and Creativity Personnel Training Program¡¨ for three years straight, and NEHS once again wins the ¡§Future School¡¨ Award with ¡§Now and Then--Future World Rhapsody¡¨. In these three years, teachers from the high school department of NEHS attended professional learning groups to sharpen future imagination and creativity-related topics and trends, and they incorporated creativity into teaching to construct topics with future concepts and a brand new teaching style. They hope to search for innovative integrations in the existing curriculum in high schools today, in order to train the rising generation to fully communicate, express, and to promote their future plans and to have a broader vision and mobility, thus nurturing the key skills students need to welcome the future. Many thanks to Ms Feng, Ms Liu, and numerous other teachers¡¦ efforts and toil.
