實驗中學33週年校慶，實中三三‧風華閃閃

實驗中學將於105年3月16日星期三盛大慶祝33周年校慶！今年的主題是「實中三三‧風華閃閃」，活動將於上午八時於校內拉開序幕。校慶活動將由鮑顗丞老師所帶領的國高中部管樂隊率先登場，會中黃芳芷校長將頒發獎牌予在本校服務滿5、10、15、20及25年的教職員，感謝及表揚他們為實中付出的辛勞與貢獻。國小部感恩歌唱大賽、比舞大賽的優勝隊伍及五年級全體同學、幼兒園部白雲班與藍天班學生、雙語部D. CO熱舞社、雙語部及高中部街舞社社員以及雙語部啦啦隊，都將大顯身手呈現精彩的表演，以熱情的演出歡慶實中三十三歲生日。校慶當天的系列活動更包含了溫馨熱鬧的跳蚤市場及慈善園遊會、豐富精彩的學生作業展，而今年另有一項特別的活動－校友會掛牌儀式。在此預祝進入而立第三年的實驗中學更加風華萬丈、閃閃發光！

105年學測本校4人勇奪滿級分

105年大學學測成績於2月18日出爐，本校共有4位同學勇奪滿級分！今年部分考試科目考題難度較高，全國僅138人拿下75級分滿級分，較去年銳減44人，本校仍有4位同學考得滿級分，分別是高三5班的鄭雅元、蘇耘、吳一宏及劉建平。此外,本校147名應屆高三畢業生中，共有9人獲得七十四級分、17人獲得七十三級分，同時達到全國七十級分以上的比例高達49%，學測成績表現亮眼！感謝教師們的辛勤指導，並恭喜表現優異的高三同學們。預祝今年全體應屆畢業生都能順利進入心目中的理想學府！

2016年臺灣國際科學展覽會　成果豐碩

本校學生參加2016年臺灣國際科學展覽會，再度創下佳績！高一5班李承軒以「圓圓不絕的三角問題-三角形分割內切圓性質探討」獲得數學大會獎四等獎、國三1班楊凱恩與9A陳亭築在李欣珮老師指導下，共同以「利用三階段迴歸修正法修正建築物場址效應對地震預警之影響」榮獲地球與環境科學大會獎三等獎、而揭維邦老師指導高三4班羅建雄及葉昌庭同學，更以「新種三尾扁蟲光行為與共生藻的互利共生」奪下動物學大會獎二等獎！能夠獲得如此優異的成績，除了學生自己本身對議題有濃厚的興趣，願意投入時間進行鑽研、付出時間與精神之外，也要感謝指導老師的帶領與教導。期待實驗中學的科學研究精神欣欣向榮，繼續為校爭光！

嘉義國際管樂節　吹響2016號角

2016年元旦這一天，嘉義冬陽親切和煦，天氣舒爽怡人。實中管樂團在指導老師鮑顗丞老師與林迦老師的帶領下跨越濁水溪，來到嘉義文化公園參加嘉義國際管樂節活動。今年實中管樂團的成員來自校內國高中部及國小三部學生，應是國內最特殊的一支隊伍。為數不少的團員加入樂團才不過半年，但卻勇於面對這次充滿挑戰的公開演出機會，在露天開放的場地使出絕技演出，成果倒也令人驚艷。鮑老師與林老師熱愛管樂，且為了音樂與學生不計代價付出之精神，令人敬佩；學生們互相幫助搬運樂器，任勞任怨，可圈可點。特別感謝隨行志工家長，協助訂購餐點、貼心後援支持，鼓舞士氣，使這次的活動得以圓滿完成。

鴻海未來教室之旅　觀摩教學成功

1月12日早上，師大附中及台中女中的校長、主任及老師們來到雙語部的未來教室，準備觀摩一場融合科技與古典的國語文教學。此番觀摩活動來自於鴻海集團於2014年提出的「未來智慧教室」計畫，由鴻海捐贈「翻轉教育整體實驗平台」，內容涵括軟硬體設備、整合系統平台、高速網路等，提供師生快速、方便的網路聯繫，可配合教學平台的使用及屏幕展現，使教學方式更為活化多元。雙語部王彩齡(Nini)老師利用未來教室進行國語文教學，選材為劉鶚《老殘遊記》第二回《歷山山下古帝遺蹤，明湖湖邊美人絕調》。Nini老師結合教學app的使用，將學生所繪製的老殘遊湖圖加以組合，生動的展現了老殘遊記中所描述的大明湖畔，也令在場學生及來賓都更深刻地記憶了這段小說。Nini老師教學流暢而自然，在未來教室各項設備的加持下，整堂課更為生動有趣，是一場成功的教學觀摩紀錄。（詳情請見第3-6頁）

Happy Birthday to NEHS, Thirty-three and Fabulous

On March 16, 2016 (Wed), NEHS will host a grand celebration of its 33rd anniversary! This year, the theme is “NEHS at 33: Elegant and Sparkling,” and the event will begin at eight o'clock in the morning on campus. The school anniversary will start off with the high school brass band's performance, led by Cheng-Yi Bao. Next, Principal Huang will present awards to teachers who have served at NEHS for 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years respectively, thanking and commending their hard work and contribution to our school. The elementary department singing contest, the winning team of the dance competition, fifth grade students and kindergarteners, bilingual department D. CO dance club,hip-hop clubs from two departments, as well as the cheerleading club of IBSH will all bring amazing performances to passionately celebrate NEHS's 33rd birthday. On the day of the anniversary, there will also be a bustling flea market, a charity fair, and a wonderful exhibition of student work; this year, special event will be included-- the establishment of the alumni association. We wish NEHS all the best, becoming more elegant and sparkling than ever!

NEHS’s 4 Top-scorers on the 2015 College Entrance Exam

The results for the 2016 College Entrance Exam came out on February 18, and NEHS has four students who got full marks! With parts of this year𠏋 exam being especially difficult, only 138 students scored the full score (75 points) in the whole country. This is a sharp decrease by 44 students from last year. However, four NEHS high school students received full marks: Ya-yuan Cheng, Yun Su, Yi-hung Wu, Chien-ping, Liu. Also, of the graduating class this year, a total of 9 students scored 74 points, 17 students scored 73 point, and a remarkable 49% of students scored above 70 points. The students?performance this year was exceptional! Thank you to all the teachers?efforts, and congratulations to the phenomenal seniors! We hope that all students in the graduating class this year will enter the schools of their dreams!

2016 National Science Fair: A great success!

NEHS has attended the 2016 National Science Fair, and once again received excellent remarks. Sophomore Cheng-shiuan Li has gotten fourth place in the field of math with his experiment on the relationships of triangles and circles. Freshmen Kai-en Yang and Ting-ju Chen, under the guidance of Ms. Shin-pei Li, have received third place in the field of environmental and community science with their experiment on the impacts of the three layer architectural method on earthquake alarms. Seniors Jian-shiung Luo and Chang-ting Yeh, with the help of Mr. Wei-bang Jie, have won the award of second place in the field of animal sciences. The students?deep interests in sciences and their dedication to their experiments, with the additional guidance from teachers, led to their success in the science fair. Let𠏋 hope that our school was continue to show such great results in the competition to bring glory to our school!

International Band Festival in Chiayi, a great start of 2016

On the first day of 2016 Chinese New Year, the sun of Chiayi is warm and friendly, and the weather is relaxing and pleasant. Under the guidance of Mr. Pao and Ms. Lin, NEHS Orchestra ventured over Zhuoshui River, and arrived at Chiayi Cultural Park to participate in Chiayi City International Band Festival. This year members of NEHS Orchestra consist of students from elementary, middle, and high school, which makes it the most special band. Numerous members have only joined the band for no more than half a year, but are already brave enough to face the challenge of performing live. Mr. Pao and Ms. Lin fervently love the band, and the effort they put into for their students is admirable; students also helped each other carry the instruments without complaints. We would like to thank the parents who volunteered to accompany the band, assisted with the ordering of food and drinks, and gave emotional support for this event to be successfully carried out.

A Successful Foxconn Future Classroom Observation Trip

In the morning of January 12, principals, deans, and teachers of both the Affiliated Senior High School of National Taiwan Normal University and Taichung Girls Senior High School arrived at the Future Classroom of IBSH, prepared to observe a Chinese class that was taught through the combination of technological and classical teaching styles. This program originated from the company Foxconn through its donation of the “Flip Education Experiment Platform” that included both software and hardware equipment, integrated system platform, and high-speed internet that allow teachers and students to quickly and easily connect with each other through the use of teaching platforms and screen displays to diversify teaching. IBSH teacher Ms. Wang (Nini) utilized the future classroom to teach a Chinese class though the selection of the second chapter of Liu E’s novel "Travels" called the "Traces of an Ancient Emperor Beneath Lishan Mountain, A Beautiful Women Singing Beside Minghu Lake" Ms. Wang also used the teaching app to combine student-drawn lake diagrams are that vividly display the Minghu Lake described in the novel so that the students and guests can have a solid memory. Ms. Wang’s smooth and natural teaching style, along with the use of the equipments present in the Future Classroom, led to an engaging and successful class. (For details, see pages 3-6)
