village, one hour away from the city center, she showed me their library, grocery stores, restaurants, bakeries,
and neighbors. It was fascinating how almost all the architecture was built in the traditional Alsatian style in
which a wooden frame branched through the stone walls and extended to the peaked terracotta roof. This half-
timbered structure was built for disassembling and reassembling houses. Additionally, the beautiful Alsatian
houses embellished the village with its bright colors, such as yellow and blue.

One of the most memorable parts of any trip is the diverse range of food you get to taste there.
Strasbourg is located in a region called Alsace, and it is geographically located near the border of France and
Germany. As a result, the food there carries an essence of both nations, creating a unique blend of French and
German cuisine. During my stay at Strasbourg, I had the opportunity to taste
famous Alsatian food such as k?gelhopf, which is a fluffy cake with a distinctive
ring shape, and flammek?che, a simple yet delicious flatbread topped with bacon,
cheese, and onions. Living with a French and German family, I was treated with
a mixture of both types of food at home. Breakfast was always in a traditional
French style, with baguette, an array of different jams, and cereal. For dinner, I
would eat German food like sp?tzle, dishes with potatoes, and d?ner kebab. The
cultural differences in Europe compared to Taiwan was truly drastic, but it was
an experience I will cherish for years to come.

Going on the French exchange program was such a rewarding experience
and it definitely is one of my staples of this school year. Revisiting Europe felt
very nostalgic to me and discovering Strasbourg was a fantastic experience.
Being able to live in a different country for a week and meeting new friends,
was truly a journey I will forever be grateful that I went on. It was challenging
to adapt and understand the different routines at times but I gained a new
perspective of day to day life. I got to feel a completely different school lifestyle
and it made me realize my preferences in both schools. The memories I made
during the exchange program will always hold a special place in my heart and I
hope I can experience this kind of trip again.
