On Sunday, Charlotte's mom got us some croissants for breakfast. For
lunch, I was pleasantly surprised with some curry rice her mom had made
as I didn't expect to have rice there. After lunch, we went to a Roman
bathhouse that was located within the city. Inside, there was a swimming
pool along with the bathing area. On the first floor was a jacuzzi, a heated
outdoor pool for wading, a few sauna rooms, a cold bath, and some snow.
Interestingly, the snow was for exfoliating the skin before you entered
the pools. On the second floor were the roman-styled baths. There was
a sauna, a steam room, and a few pools. Although it may not have been
from Roman times, the bathhouse was still a dazzling historical monument.
We enjoyed a nice afternoon sitting around and relaxing. My favorite part
was the circular mosaic pool on the second floor. For dinner, Charlotte and
I made some crepes. Even though half of them were slightly burnt, they
                                                   were still delicious!

On my second day in France, my host parents took me to the
mountains to visit this abbey built around 3000 years ago. The abbey
is in Mont Sainte Odile, in Alsace France. Inside, you can learn about the
story of Saint Odile and the history of the abbey as well as visiting her
grave. The outside has a magnificent view, and my host family likes hike
there during the summer when the weather's not so cold. We took a walk
around the abbey after going inside to visit but there was still ice on the
ground, so it was very slippery.
