IBSH 雙語部 Mr. Scott Salopek 施樂博 老師
..............................................................................................
Hello all, I'm Scott Salopek and I'm originally from
Madison, Wisconsin, in the United States. I received my
bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from the
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and later received
my Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from
the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This is my 11th
year teaching and eight of my teaching years have been
in Taiwan. Besides the U.S. and Taiwan, I also lived in
Australia and Saudi Arabia, and spent semesters abroad
in China and Ghana. I greatly enjoy traveling as I've been
to many countries across all six permanently inhabited
continents, and am always looking forward to my next
adventure. Traveling has been one of the most adventurous,
rewarding and educational aspects of my life. I also love
the outdoors as I enjoy hiking, river tracing, rock climbing,
cycling, and sometimes just hanging out in nature. It's great
to be teaching Social Studies here at IBSH and I'm looking
forward to a new, fun, productive, and hopefully COVID-free
year together.
IBSH 雙語部 Mr. Ian Ketcham 凱誠嵐 老師
..............................................................................................
Hello! My name is Ian Ketcham. I am originally from
Vermont, a small, rural state in the Northeast of the USA. I
went to university in San Diego, California to study social
science and education. I then taught in San Diego for one
year. Since then, I have taught in Kuwait (two years) and
Dongguan, China (four years). Immersing myself in different
cultures has been a humbling and rewarding experience
that I recommend to all. I met my lovely wife, Anne, in
Dongguan. I am passionate about basketball, American
football, fiction novels (fantasy/sci-fi), and travel. I cannot
wait for COVID restrictions to lessen so I can continue to
explore the world. I first visited Taiwan, Anne's home,
in 2019, and I am glad IBSH gave me the opportunity to
return and teach several interesting subjects (Psychology,
Economics, Government, History); I will also be helping the
MUN team. Look for me if you want to hear someone ramble
about politics and history, or if you just want to see how
not to shoot a basketball.
