I noticed the enthusiasm between speaker and audience after the event, in which students and faculty from all
backgrounds approached speakers Ms. Michelle Kuo and Mr. Zuo-Ren Chen to share their concerns and learn more. I
especially recall some students asking Ms. Kuo about questions they encountered at home and of personal development,
while others asked Mr. Chen about how his team managed to launch a rocket from scratch. I feel that it is dialogue that
makes TEDx IBSH so memorable, giving all attendees a “gift” of knowledge to take away.

I was very delighted that I was able to become the curator of TED X IBSH. TED X IBSH is my first time taking a
leadership role in such a major event. Even though the process is challenging and we might have faced some obstacles,
I enjoyed every step of it. Starting from pre-event planning to the finalization of the event. Each step of the event helped
me gain something new. Beginning from finding spreaders, not only taught me researching and email writing skills,
but it also taught me how to not give up and always have a backup plan. Then when we were getting close to the event,
some inconveniences happened, but in the end, we were still able to solve them, it helped improve my crisis-handling
skills. The day of the event helped me gain so much too. But what I gained the most and what is more valuable is that I
was able to achieve a wonderful experience and had a chance to participate and work with a wonderful team of people.
We also had the chance to invite such influential spreaders, Michelle Kuo, Zuo-Ren Chen and Marc Cheng to this
influential event. I was truly inspired by them. I am thankful for everyone and everything from this event. TED X IBSH,
is a memorable experience that I will never forget.

As my first time taking a leadership role in such a big event, TEDxYouth@IBSH will forever be treasured in my
heart. From the pre-event planning of managing social media promotions and ordering staff t-shirts to helping with
decorations for the venue the day of the event, I’ve learned a lot about time management, working with others, and
dealing with unexpected situations. We were delighted to be able to have Ms. Michelle Kuo, Mr, Zuo-Ren Chen, and Mr.
Marc Cheng as our speakers. Each of them delivered their own unique ideas and stories, inspiring the students, teachers,
and parents who attended the event. As someone who has learned a lot through watching TED talks on YouTube, I feel
honored to have been able to help host a TED event at my own school.

As someone who watches Ted talks frequently and benefits from those lessons, I never thought there would be an
opportunity for me to organize one. The TEDx event not only gave me the precious experience of achieving personal
growth but also organizing a gathering of people from different backgrounds to inspire as well as to unleash new ideas
just as I did from watching those videos. Additionally, I sincerely appreciate the team members I got to know this time
and everyone’s dedication that made this event successful.

When I was given the opportunity to be video head, I thought my job would be pretty easy and the event would
run smoothly; it turns out that quite the opposite happened. Working under pressure was something that I really got to
experience first hand during TEDx. It was kind of chaotic minutes before the event was about to begin. No one knew how
to work the mics, control the lights, and manage the audio. Eventually everything was figured out thanks to the NEHS tech
guy who taught me alot about the inner workings of our school tech. Looking back now, I was glad that I got to be video
head, and the TEDx videos will be out soon so stay tuned!
